Jouvert - it's the carnival start the hard way on Carnival Monday at 4 a.m.: mud, paint, oil + deafening soca-noise from the trucks loaded with speaker boxes. And beer. Jouvert is  a must for everybody in Trinidad but is, as you can see in the pictures, also popular with tourists from North and South America and the other islands of the Caribbean.
